Sofia Davies 

Sofia has won our September Judoka of the month. She has been fighting really well in recent months and has shown a really high level of judo. She is very determined and bounces back quickly from any disappointments. Her performance at the British Championships for minors was outstanding, just missing out on the bronze medal in 5th place but beating opponents she had not previously defeated.

August

Harvey Fuller 

Harvey has won our August Judoka of the month, after showing tremendous resilience in coming back from a series of injuries, most recently a broken collar bone. He is now back stronger than ever after a tough camp programme during the summer which included a 3 day randori camp in Nijmegen, Holland. He has had excellent tournament performances, most recntly at the NHC ranking in September.

Conan Thiedeman 

Conan has won our July Judoka of the month, after terrific performances in two recent events, winning the 'Ippon throw of the day' at Windsor Judo Clubs competition.

He has also shown a great work ethic in training and sets an excellent example to other members of his class.

George Cherry 

George has won our June Judoka of the month. He is the epitome of hard work, showing incredible determination and a desire to improve. He sets the standard for other players in the acdemy, never missing training and working harder than anyone else. Results have started to follow with an excellent bronze medal at the Kent International.

Joe Gadsby 

Joe or 'Lunch' to his friends has won our May Judoka of the month, after a terrific performance in Holland, winning a brilliant silver medal in the weight class above his normal weight. He had a huge crowd following with the Israeli team loving his throw for Ippon mentality. Joe is a smiling assassin who loves to learn judo.

He has recently told his coach though that he likes to do 'my own judo' so watch out for more 'Joe Gadsby waza'.....

Henry Sturm 

Henry stormed to the British Schools title in April, showing his huge ability and fantastic resilience. Henry hardly ever misses training and has a really good 'judo brain', always looking to develop his own ideas and experiment. He will be a Judo star of the future!

Luke has won our December Judoka of the month award. He has become Core Judo's first Cadet British Medalist, taking bronze in the British Championships in Sheffield. He also won the Southern Area Open in the same month and we are delighted his commitment has been rewarded.

One player who stood out in particular was Tobin Bowers who showed huge amounts of determination and desire on the altitude training camp in France and set a fantastic example to the other players. Jamie has had a terrific month, a reward for his fantastic attitude in training. He even comes 30 minutes early to class so he can get some one on one training. He won the 61 open with five incredible Ippon throws against some quality opposition. He took bronze at the London Open and 5th place at the Kent International after some very unlucky decisions. He capped off a great month by taking Bronze at the Don Werner Memorial. All this after an 18 month break from judo. Keep an eye out for his progress in the upcoming events.

GEORGE SHOTTON

George has shown some lovely judo and spirit in recent tournaments, helping Pinewood win the Core Team Championships when called upon for their injured star Oliver Young and then taking a brilliant silver medal in the 61 Open Championships at his first event in his new weight class.

He showed tremendous resilience and determination to overcome his bigger and older opponents and produced a huge ippon throw in the semi-final! George is great character who loves to throw for huge ippons!
