Judo Classes

Level 1: Mini Judo

Level 1: Mini Judo

Suitable for children from 5-7 years old.

'Mini-Judo' is a cross between Judo and Gymnastics. It will teach core gymnastic skills and the fundamentals of judo, such as balance, movement and posture. These are the building blocks for all sports.

'Mini-Judo' will be a precursor to the beginners Judo class.

Level 2: Beginners Class

Level 2: Beginners Class

Suitable for children from 6-10 years old.

These classes will build upon the fundamentals learnt in ‘Mini Judo’. Children will have a grading diary from this class onwards so their technical progress can be recorded.

Level 3: Intermediate Class

Level 3: Intermediate Class

Suitable for children from 8-13 years old.

This class will suit children who are ready to start training twice per week and take judo a little more seriously.

Emphasis here will be on developing their technical repertoire and introduction to randori (controlled sparring).

Level 4: Core Academy Classes

Level 4: Core Academy Classes

This class is for children who have both the technical ability and or mental attributes to train at a high level. Children will attend training camps and be expected to train at least twice per week if they want to represent Core Judo in tournaments. There will be foreign tournaments and trips away to Europe. Children in these classes are on a pathway to compete in the British Championships and beyond... We now have a dedicated 'Junior Academy' for players aged 9-12 years and a 'Senior Academy' for players aged 13-18 years old.
