  • <p>&nbsp;</p>Jonathon Purssey

     

    Jonathon Purssey

     

    Jonathon is the founder and head coach at Core Judo. He holds a degree in Economics & Organisational Studies and is currently studying for his Masters in advanced sports coaching at Sheffield Hallam University. He is a former British & Commonwealth champion and has over seen Core judo become one of the top junior clubs in the UK. Jonathon is an ambassador for the Princes Trust and is a member of the BJA Coaching Commission who has worked with London Irish and London Welsh Rugby clubs on improving outcomes in the contact area

     

  • <p>&nbsp;</p>Aaron Turner

     

    Aaron Turner

     

    Aaron has returned from successfully launching Core UAE coaching in Dubai. He is the lead coach at the club and manages the hugely successful schools program. Aaron has represented Great Britain at the highest level, including the team World Championships.

     

  • <p>&nbsp;</p>Julie Camachon

     

    Julie Camachon

     

    Julie Camachon, is a French national who is a black belt from Tarrantaise Judo Club, a region in the French Alps renowned for its excellent judo players. Julie trained with Pole France in her region for the area's top players and has fought throughout France. Julie is learning BJJ and trains Cross-fit. She brings a different judo perspective and excellent knowledge base to our team of coaches

     

  • <p>&nbsp;</p> Alex Farbon

     

    Alex Farbon

     

    Alex Farbon is one the most technically gifted Judoka of his generation, representing Great Britain at both the Senior World & European Championships. Twice a senior British champion, he has won World Cup medals and the prestigious Monaco International as well as a host of major titles. Alex coaches the Senior Academy players at the club

     

  • <p>&nbsp;</p> Ainius & Lorenus Azukas

     

    Ainius & Lorenus Azukas

     

    Ainius & Lorenus Azukas are Lithuanian Internationals who have represented their country at the World Cadet Championships. They are extremely popular figures within the club due to their positivity and warm hearts! They are fantastic role models for the senior academy, showing all the attributes and behaviours needed to be a top-level competitor. They bring passion, knowledge and a skill-set that we are fortunate to have at Core Judo.

     

  • <p>&nbsp;</p> Jack Barnes

     

    Jack Barnes

     

    Jack Barnes, trains full time and is working towards the Paris 2024 Olympics. He is part of the Great Britain Senior Judo team and has a wealth of technical ability and knowledge to share. Jack leads our school program and is the clubs develop coach working with the squad who are new to British Judo competitions

    Matthew Purssey

     

    7 times British Champion and 2014 Commonwealth Games silver medallist is the current Great Britain Coach for the Junior and Transition players based at the Performance Institute in Walsall. He acts as an advisor and consultant coach to Core judo.

    Craig Fallon

     

    Commonwealth, European and World Champion- arguably the greatest British Judo player of all time. Craig sadly lost his fight with depression in 2019. He will forever be remembered as a humble, kind and caring man- someone who always was happiest on the mat giving his knowledge to others. The type of man we want our children to emulate in the way he carried himself on and off the tatami

    Darcel Yandzi

     

    Current Technical coach for the French National team, Darcel a former World & European champion has been a huge influence on Core judo and still lends his technical advice and support.
